The Perot 1 House

Perot 1 House is one of the most recent and larger of the AMSP guest houses.  Perot Street was named for Emil Perot, whose farm once encompassed what is now the Fairmount neighborhood and nearby historic Eastern State Penitentiary (don’t worry – it only has ghosts, no inmates!).  When we purchased this property from a lovely older woman heading to a retirement community, we discovered that we are only the third owners.  She had lived her whole life in this house which her grandparents had bought in the 1880’s from the original owners.  The décor is traditional sprinkled with IKEA. We chose red, green, and gold as our primary colors to provide a home for a Ruby Red and Avon Cape Cod glass collection.   The dining room table and benches which were originally church pews come from a monastery along the Hudson River.
